Antonio Mancini (1852 – 1930) He was born in Albano Laziale, outside Rome, but began art studies at the age of twelve with Morelli at the Palizzi alI’Istituto di Belle Arti in Naples. In 1873 he went to Paris where he was associated with the Goupil Gallery. A nervous breakdown brought him back to Naples, where he spent four years in a sanatorium. He then went back to Paris and on to London, where aided by his friend he had a considerable success. Ultimately he settled in Rome. John Singer Sargent,
