Callow, William (1812-1908)

William Callow (1812 – 1908) He was born in Greenwich and articled to Theodore Henry Fielding in London in 1823. In 1829 he went with Fielding to Paris where he stayed almost continuously until 1841. Louis-Philippe’s children were his pupils 1834-41. He returned to London in 1841; in 1855 he settled in Great Missenden where he died on 20 February 1908. He worked mainly in watercolor and specialized in seascapes.
