Morley, Harry (1881-1943)

Harry Morley (1881 – 1943) He was born in Leicester and educated there, studying art with William Barrow. He won a scholarship to the Royal College of Art in 1900 and a travelling scholarship that took him to Italy in 1904. After studying and working briefly as an architect, the began studying painting in Paris in 1908, moving to London after that. He was fond of classical subjects. He should not be confused with the Scottish painter, Henry Morley, who was a contemporary.
