Nicolas Bachelier (1500 – 1557) There were two artists of this name, the architect/sculptor, who worked in the sixteenth century, and the painter, who worked in the eighteenth. This one is the sculptor. He was born some time between 1487 and 1500 in Arras , in northern France, but worked mainly in Toulouse, which has a museum of his work. Some of his buildings were finished by his son Dominique.
