Otto Richard Bossert (1874 – 1919)
He was born in Heidelberg and studied in Karlsruhe, but he lived and worked in Leipzig. From 1904 he taught at the Leipzig Academy for the Graphic Arts. In 1911 he spent a summer in Normandy and Brittany, coming back with a strong interest in Cézanne. He was an established portraitist and also made portrait etchings of historical figures. The gems of his graphic works were, however the color woodcuts, printed in very small editions, and now very scarce.
