Arnold-Forster, William Edward (1886-1951)
by Scholes, Robert
William Arnold-Forster 1886-1951 This artist was misnamed “Arnold-Foster” by R. S. Stephens, who found his work “monotonous” in 1922 . His real name was William Edward Arnold-Forster, and he was known as a painter, publicist, and gardener. His son, Mark Arnold-Forster became well known as a writer. His wife, Katherine “Ka” Cox, died mysteriously in 1938. She had Bloomsbury connections and once had what has been called a “stormy love affair” with the poet Rupert Brooke. (NA 30.26:339)
