Helen Catherine Bedford (1874 – 1949)
She was born and lived in London, the daughter of painter, Hugh Carter. She married the illustrator, Francis Donkin Bedford. Ezra Pound, who was quite a curmudgeon as an art critic, grudgingly praised Bedford’s portraits at a show of the Pastel Society in 1918, though he advised her to stick to adults (NA 22.16:310).
