Clark, Chrisopher (1875-1942) by Scholes, Robert

Chrisopher Clark (1875 – 1942) He was a military and historical painter. Beyond that we know little about him. In 1919 Ezra Pound described a painting of his this way: “Lieut. Christopher Clarke in “Wartime on the Clyde” tries to exploit vorticist patterns of ship-camouflage without leaving the safe haven of academic water-colour” . We would like to locate an image of that painting. (NA25.6:88)
