Connell, James (1863-?) by Scholes, Robert

James Connell (1863-?)

He was educated at the Glasgow High School, and then followed his father into the family art and antique business with offices in Glasgow and London, in 1879. Later he was a specialist dealer in etchings and paintings as well as a watercolour artist and etcher. His artworks are hard to find, but his gallery’s imprint is everywhere.
