John McKirdy Duncan (1866 – 1945) He was born in Dundee and studied art in London and on the Continent, working first as an illustrator in London, and exhibiting with the Royal Academy from 1893 on. He did the decorations for University Hall, Edinburgh, and worked in France and the USA (Chicago), but his main home was in Edinburgh.
