Ertz, Edward Frederick (1862-1954) by Scholes, Robert

Edward Frederick Ertz (1862 – 1954) He was born in Canfield Illinois but moved to Chicago, where he began as an etcher and engraver, later moving to New Orleans and New York. In 1888, he left the U. S. and went to Paris, where he taught drawing and painting for many years. Finally, he settled in London, where he was elected to the Royal British Academy in 1902. His work is in a number of public collections.
