Gabain, Ethel (1883-1950) by Scholes, Robert

Ethel Gabain (1883 – 1950) She was born in LeHavre and educated in England. She began exhibiting drawings and lithographs as early as 1906, earning a living as a lithographer. She illustrated a highly prized edition of Jane Eyre. She also was a founder of the Senefelder Club where she met her future husband, the printmaker . They both lived and worked in Italy for a time. Her lithographs are much admired today. John Copley
