Hale, William Matthew (1837-1929) by Scholes, Robert

William Matthew Hale (1837 – 1929) He was born in Bristol, and studied art under J. D. Harding and Collingwood Smith. He was mainly a watercolorist, and specialized in landscape and marine paintings. He lived in London and near Bristol, but travelled widely in Europe.
