Reginal Hallward (1858 – 1948) He was a painter, stained glass artist, illustrator and designer. Through his private press, The Woodland Press, he published a number of poetry books illustrated with his own chalk drawings. For part of his life he lived in the Mawddach Crescent, Fegla Fawr, Arthog, North Wales. In 1906 he published anonymously a book of poems called , which was distributed by Elkin Matthews. He has been described as a “visionary” painter, for a time influenced by the work and ideals of James Guthrie (not the painter of that name) and his Pear Tree Press. Wild Oats
