George Harcourt (1868 – 1947) He was born in Dumbartonshire, and, at the age of 20 he went to the School of Art, at Bushey, and subsequently became an assistant teacher there. He specialized in narrative scenes, often large sized, and sometimes in the Pre-Raphaelite manner. Anthony Ludovici criticized him in for painting a large canvas on a trivial subject.
