Alfred Robert Hayward (1875 – 1971) He was born in London and studied art at the Royal College of Art and at the Slade School under , and . He was a member of the New English Art Club from 1910. He painted in Venice on several occasions after his first visit to Italy in 1909. He was an official war artist from 1914 to 1918.
