Pieter de Hooch (1629 – 1684) A contemporary of , de Hooch was born in Rotterdam and moved to Delft in 1654, becoming a member of the Delft school of painters. He is known for his architectural interiors, done with careful attention to perspective and design. He later moved to Amsterdam, where his mental health disintegrated. Jan Vermeer
