Rupert Godfrey Lee (1887 – 1959) He was born in Bombay and studied at the Royal Academy Schools and the Slade. He exhibited with the London Group in 1919 and was made a member in 1920, elected president from 1926-36, and chaired the First International Surrealist Exhibition in 1936. He and his wife Madge were friendly with . He lectured sometimes at the Westminster School of Art, living in Sussex and in San Roque in Spain. John and Paul Nash
