Lindner, Moffat Peter (1852-1949)

Moffat Peter Lindner (1852 – 1949) He was born in Birmingham and studied at the Slade School and Heatherley’s, becoming well-known as a painter of landscapes and coastal scenes in oil and watercolor. He exhibited with the Royal Academy from 1881. Living and working in Cornwall as well as London, he founded the St. Ives Society of Painters in 1927. He also painted in Holland and Italy, winning a number of prizes and being elected to several societies of artists.
