Willem Maris (1844 – 1910) One of the three painting Maris brothers (Jacob, Mattys, and Willem) from The Hague in Holland, Willem was perhaps the least highly regarded of the three. Anthony Ludovici compared him unfavorably to Jacob in . He seems to have specialized in cows and meadows. See our pages on the other brothers for further information about them as a group.
