David Murray (1849 – 1933) This well-known landscape painter was born in Glasgow. He belonged to many societies of artists and was knighted in 1916. In 1919 Ezra Pound sneered at him thus: “Sir David Murray continues to exhibit the false colour which undistinguishes his long habitual products” (NA 25.6:89)
