Noble, Jamese Campbell (1846-1913) by Scholes, Robert

Jamese Campbell Noble (1846 – 1913) A landscape and genre painter, he was born in Edinburgh and studied there at the Borad of Manufacture and in the Life School of the Royal Scottish Academy under J. P. Chalmers and McTaggert. He exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1880 on, and painted river scenes in particular in Britain and on the Continent. He lived at Coldingham in Berwickshire and in Edinburgh.
