Henry Ospovat (1877 – 1909) Henry Ospovat was a Russian immigrant to Britain who died very young in 1909. Known for his drawings and caricatures, he illustrated the poems of Matthew Arnold and Shakespeare. He was beginning to make a name for himself at the time of his death, having been singled out for praise in the February 29, 1908 issue of : “Here at least is an artist with a courage and a directness seldom seen in these apologetic days.” The New Age (NA 2.18:357) The best source of information about him is , Saint Catharine Press, London, 1911.
