Barry Pittar (1880 – 1948) J. F. Barry Pittar was born in Kent. His father, Sir Thomas J. Pittar, was Chairman of the Board of Trade. He studied art at the St. John’s Wood Art School and the Royal College of Art, and in Paris. He worked as an illustrator and was the Chief Architectural Artist for the Royal Doulton Potteries at Lambeth. He was a painter and etcher of architectural subjects and landscapes.
