Frederick James Porter (1883 – 1944) He was born at Auckland in New Zealand and studied art there and in Melbourne before going to Paris, where he worked with Laurens at the Académie Julian. After that he moved to England, where he exhibited with the London Group from 1916 on, becoming a member in 1921, and vice president from 1925-35. He taught at the Central School of Arts and Crafts for the last twenty years of his life. We have not been able to locate images of this artist’s work and would be glad to learn of any.
