Rigby, Cuthbert (1850-1935) by Scholes, Robert

Cuthbert Rigby (1850 – 1935) He was born in Liverpool, apprenticed to a local architect in 1865, and got some painting lessons from W. J. Bishop in 1872. He began exhibiting with the Royal Academy in 1875, as a landscape painter in oil and watercolor. He lived and worked in the Lake District (you can stay in a house advertised as his) and was a founding member of the Lake District Atrists’ Society
