Russell, Gyrth (1892-1970) by Scholes, Robert

Gyrth Russell (1892 – 1970) This Canadian artist was born at Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. He studied in Boston and in Paris at the Académie Julian and the Atelier Colarossi in 1912-1914. He was an official war artist with the Canadian army during WWI. He was a member of the Langham Sketching Club. In his later years he lived in Devonshire and Glamorganshire.
