Synge, Edward Millington (1860-1913) by Scholes, Robert

Edward Millington Synge (1860 – 1913) He was born in Great Malvern in Worcestershire, and educated at the Norwich Grammar School and Trinity College, Cambridge. He became a land agent and practiced etching in his spare time. He studied under Frank Short and Seymour Haden for some time, and made art his vocation from 1901 on, travelling in Italy, France, and Spain, recording scenes from those countries as well as Britain.
