Aston Webb (1849 – 1930) Trained as an architect, he designed many English buildings in a style of classical revival, including the Victoria and Albert Museum facade, and the Royal School of Mines. He became President of the Royal Academy in 1919, just in time to receive some mocking attention from Ezra Pound . (NA 24.15:240)
