Wheelhouse, Mary V. (1870?-1947?)

Mary V. Wheelhouse (1870?-1947?) A painter and illustrator, she was born in Yorkshire and studied at Scarborough around 1895. She also studied in Paris. At some point she moved to London, living in Chelsea from 1900. She illustrated books by Louisa May Alcott and Elizabeth Gaskell. She was also a committee member of the Artists’ Suffrage League, founded in 1907. Various sources give different dates for her birth and death. Ours are informed guesses.
