Witold Wojtkiewicz (1879 – 1909) He began studying art in Warsaw, with Wojciech Gerson, and then went to St. Petersburg and finally settled in Krakow. He began doing satirical sketches for the press. He has been called an “expressionist,” but we think Huntly Carter got it right in the pages of , when he referred to Wojtkiewicz as “the Polish Beardsley.” The New Age (NA 9.23:546)
