Leon Wyczolkowski (1852 – 1936) He was born in Garwolina, Poland, and studied under Wojciech Gerson and Jan Matejko in Warsaw, before going on to develop his skills as an artist in Munich and Paris (1879). He lived and worked in a number of places, including Lviv, Krakow, Warsaw, Poznan, and the town of Goscieradz near Bydgoszcz.
