Zwintscher, Oskar (1870-1914) by Scholes, Robert

Oskar Zwintscher (1870 – 1914) He was born in Leipzig and studied at the Dresden Academy with Leon Pohle and Ferdinand Pauwels, teaching there from 1903 on. He corresponded with Clara Westhoff Rilke. His painting style was moving toward expressionism when he died. There is a street named after him in Dresden.
