Tyro 1921 — 1922

Edited and largely written by Wyndham Lewis, with the help of a few friends, The Tyro was Lewis’s attempt to continue the work of Blast and Vorticism after a lapse of seven years. Like its predecessor Blast, it ran for just two issues, published in two different years. It is more concerned with art and less with literature than Blast, perhaps because Ezra Pound was no longer helping Lewis. The Tyro is also more conventional in its typography and less startling in general, though it remains important to students of modernism.
